Good atmosphere, live music, and free entertainment – these are a few of Erie's favorite things.

Back for its 15th season, 8 Great Tuesdays kicks off at the Burger King Amphitheater at Liberty Park July 8. Thanks to the work of the Erie-Western PA Port Authority in addition to sponsors for the concernts, these eight Tuesdays – like all 112 Tuesdays before them – remain free and open to the public.

"8 Great Tuesdays is a wonder way to draw residents and visitors alike to the Bayfront," said Event Coordinator Robin Waldinger in a press release. "The Port Authority hopes that attendees of the event will return to enjoy the park year‐round and also patronize the many businesses and establishments along the Bayfront both before and after the concerts.

"The fact that these concerts have continued to bring near capacity crowds for 15 years, and counting, is a testament to the quality of the entertainment that is being provided and the enjoyment received by the thousands of fans that return each year," she continued. "Events such as 8 Great Tuesdays contribute to the increased quality of life for all members of the Erie community and surrounding areas."

Looking to celebrate the past, present, and future of 8 Great Tuesdays, this year's season features a new logo and kicks off with an All-Star group of past 8 Great Tuesdays performers. And just like in the past, local vendors will ring the amphitheater so that local eats – another one of Erie's favorite things – can be enjoyed.

Celebrating the present and future, S.O.N.S. of Lake Erie will host a family fishing event August 19 beginning at 4 p.m.

"We are excited to have the S.O.N.S on site this year and hope that many families will try fishing – it's another great way to enjoy the waters of Lake Erie and Presque Isle Bay", stated Waldinger.

So clear your schedules, Erieites – because if you want good atmosphere, live music, tasty local eats, fishing, and free entertainment, here's what you'll be doing from July 8 to August 26:

JULY 8 (SPECIAL 6PM START): THE EVENING GUESTS and 8 GREAT ALL STARS

Free shuttle service, provided by the "e" (Erie Metropolitan Transit Authority), begins at 5 p.m. from the Erie Intermodal Complex located near the intersection of Holland Street and the Bayfront Parkway and from the Hoffman Transportation Hub located near the intersection of 12th Street and Lincoln Avenue.
