Three Congressional Candidates Debate for Pennsylvania's 16th

Just in time for this year's May 15 primary elections, voters will get a chance to hear directly from three big names on the ballot. Congressional candidates Chris Reiger, Dr. Robert Multari, and Ron DiNicola will be discussing the issues that face our community in a debate that will help the electorate to decide whose name will appear on November's ballot in opposition to Republican Mike Kelly. The debate will be moderated by Ben Speggen, program director of the Jefferson Educational Society, and Caitlin Handerhan, Executive Director of the Penn State Behrend Public Policy Fund. In addition to opening and closing statements, the candidates will field questions from the moderators as well as ones submitted by the audience. This year's redistricting shakes things up for Pennsylvania's District 16, formerly the 3rd. Erie County, previously gerrymandered into two districts, is now represented in its entirety, as well as many areas to the south, and that's reflected in the candidates. Handerhan noted that "it is great to see three of the counties represented in this race. Each candidate brings a different perspective based upon their experience and the community in which they live, but ultimately we are all citizens of western PA who want to see our Rust Belt towns thrive." — Nick Warren
